Janet joined Trianta Longo LLP after representing both insurance companies and injured people in personal injury litigation for nearly 30 years.
She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1991 after attending law school in British Columbia and articling at a well- respected downtown Toronto insurance defence firm. She then acted primarily for Plaintiffs for the next 11 years before switching her focus to insurance defence litigation, specializing in both Tort and Accident Benefits litigation.
Janet has appeared before all levels of Courts in Ontario, as well as the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) and the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT). She has conducted numerous jury trials and hearings and is trained as a mediator as well. She has also represented individuals at the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and in Inquest proceedings.
